$9K UK-run Young Innovators Programme invites applications from African entrepreneurs
The Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Digital Economy (MISDE) in Ekiti State, Nigeria, and Innovate UK Global Alliance Africa have partnered to launch the second edition of the Young Innovators Programme. The winner will receive a GBP7,000 (US $9,000) cash prize.
In order to maximize the creation of inclusive market access, funding, and investment opportunities through innovation knowledge transfer, Innovate UK Global Alliance Africa was founded with the goal of forging new and stronger partnerships between the UK and Africa.
This year’s second Young Innovators Program, which is a six-year project funded by UK International Development through Innovate UK (GCRF) and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), focuses on sustainable innovation and workable solutions to regional problems. The program held its inaugural Young Innovators Program last year.
The programme’s goal is to encourage and assist the next generation of innovators. The winner will receive GBP7,000, which they can use to fund startup costs, mentorship, and training for innovators.
“We are thrilled to announce the return of the Young Innovators Programme, which builds on the success of last year’s edition. We are looking forward to an even better programme this year,” said Innovate UK country lead Joshua Adedeji.
“Our commitment remains resolute: to empower young innovators in Ekiti State by providing them with the essential resources and support needed to turn their groundbreaking ideas into reality.”
