All energies and resources must be focused on opportunities: Chetan Indap
Chetan Indap is the co-founder and CEO of Callify.ai. Callify.ai is an artificial intelligence-based voice-powered platform that helps working professionals automate their daily outbound phone interactions. In a conversation with INCUBEES, Chetan spoke to us about Callify.ai.
INCUBEES: Tell us about your product or services?
Chetan: Callify.ai is a Calling & Qualifying SaaS Platform for working professionals, enabling them to automate all their outbound phone interactions in their own voice, without having to make a single call manually. Callify.ai is essentially a productivity tool that significantly eliminates manual, repetitive, cumbersome, and wasteful efforts of working professionals; making their life easy.
INCUBEES: What makes your product/services unique and what competition do you see in India and globally?
Chetan: Globally working professionals make a huge number of calls daily to achieve their tasks. However, as high as 90% of such efforts are wasted because people do not answer, they are busy, they ask to call later, they are not interested or they are not found to be relevant. This leads to 70% sub-optimal productivity resulting in 40% cost leakage for businesses. Callify is unique in the sense that it automates outbound human interactions. With Callify users can record their message in their own voice, set questions, invite people they want to call and that’s it. Callify makes calls to all those people using its best time calling algorithm; it captures responses of the recipients in their voice and converts it to Text (Speech AI) and then derives insights from the text (NLP) that are valuable for the user.
There are many companies in the conversational AI space; however, almost all of them focus on inbound human interactions. Callify differentiates by being the outbound interaction space.
INCUBEES: What are the challenges you see in the market at this point in time?
Chetan: Challenges and Opportunities are always in equilibrium at any point in any market. One has to ensure that all energies & resources are focused on opportunities. During the pandemic, while the overall business activity was down (challenge), but whatever activities were being done, had to be done digitally (opportunity). Callify.ai’s usage grew many folds during the pandemic (we also got funded during these times); so we are overall positive about our prospects when the market further opens out.
INCUBEES: Tell us about your team and what inspires them?
Chetan: We have very seasoned core team members with an average median experience of 15 years each. While I would like to assume that they get inspired by me, honestly, they are self-motivated and highly accountable; ensuring that they are fully committed to their professional expectations. So in a way, they inspire themselves, which in turn inspires me to do better for them.
INCUBEES: Where do you see your product/service reaching in the next five-years?
Chetan: While we have all kinds of 5 years financial projections; go-to-market strategy; product-road-map; EBIDTA growth etc, we’d like to see Callify being used in more than 100 countries and doing Rs.100 Crores in revenue; within the next 5 years!
INCUBEES: Do you have plans to raise funding to grow your business or allow your business to organically grow?
Chetan: While all entrepreneurs like to achieve large-scale growth organically (so that there is no dilution of their equity) in reality, one does need the right amount of capital at various stages of growth/scale of the company. So we are pretty sure we will also need multiple rounds of funding to achieve a higher scale and global market share. Further, multiple funding rounds also provide an opportunity for our seed/angel investors to seek an exit (in increased multiples), if they wish so.
INCUBEES: What are the challenges you face as a start-up?
Chetan: The biggest challenge for any early-stage start-up (that we are) is the ‘unpredictability’ of everything; whether it is revenue, customer sign-ups, cash-flow, etc. This unpredictability adds to the unnecessary stress, which otherwise could get utilized in building innovation at a faster pace. However, if this challenge did not exist, then anybody and everybody would have started their own start-up. As long as passion, commitment, and will to persevere is higher than challenges/obstacles, your start-up will blossom into a large enterprise, one day.
