Kerala-based Diaguncart.com to invest Rs 100 crore for expansion in South India

DiagunCart, the Kochi-based start-up engaged in the supply of trending and innovative products in the market through online stores, will invest Rs 100 crore as part of its expansion in South India.

The company started its operations during the first lockdown with a capital of Rs one lakh and a virtual office. The online store, www.diaguncart.com is a B2B and B2C company, delivering an extensive range of products which encompasses industry safety products, personal safety products, disinfectants, and biodegradable, Agriculture & compostable products, sports and beauty care, and other consumer products at the doorsteps, a press release said.

Jijy Philip CEO, Diaguncart.com, said that with the expansion of the company in South India, around 2000 new employment opportunities will be created.

The company was able to make inroads to the market with products delivered directly from industry-leading manufactures and from authorized distributors.

“DiagunCart was able to gain the confidence of 50,000 customers and 100 million turn over during the last one year. Now the products are delivered in every nook and corner of the country by speed post service and other available courier services,” he said.

As part of the expansion, DiagunCart will start its own distribution network in Kerala during the initial phase and then it will be expanded to other States. With the expansion the company expects to achieve Rs 10 crore turnover in a month, he said.

When the lockdown was introduced due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there was overprice for Covid controlling materials like sanitizers and masks. This had prompted Kochi-based Jiji Philip and his friends Abilash Vijayan and Habeeb Rahman to start an e-commerce platform in May 2020.

Habeeb Rahman, CFO, Diaguncart, pointed out that the company gained acceptance among the customers when masks were given at Rs three and all other Covid preventive materials, agriculture, sports, beauty care, and other consumer products at a very reasonable cost.

The Covid safety kit and later the Onam kit groceries were quite successful in the market. And the low prices of Covid products attracted Etihad, Emirates, and some point Air India too to Diaguncart.com.
“We still supply nationally to Etihad and Emirates, because our prices are very competitive,” he added.

Extremely reliable and incredibly speedy delivery is assured through the wide network of local stores. With a single click, the products reach the customers at the earliest.
