B Capital, Sequoia’s Surge head $21 M Series A round for Mojocare

A series A round-headed by B Capital, Chiratae Ventures, Better Capital, and Surge, the accelerator program of Sequoia Capital India, secured $20.6 million USD for the Indian health and wellness company Mojocare.

Mojocare was established in May 2021 and specializes in providing goods and services for hair loss, mental health, and sexual wellbeing. Additionally, it enables users to search for health coaches, therapists, and nutritionists as well as conduct online doctor consultations.

Rajat Gupta, a former executive at Mobile Premier League and messaging app Line, and Ashwin Swaminathan, a senior investment expert at Chiratae Ventures, founded the business. Chiratae Ventures, Surge, and other investors helped Mojocare secure $3.08 million in seed fundraising in October 2020.

In a statement, the company said that it specializes in diseases connected to lifestyle choices, which are typically challenging to treat in a single appointment. “In India, 400 million people are battling issues related to dermatological, mental healt, fertility, and sexual wellness,” Gupta pointed out.

With the additional capital, Mojocare intends to increase hiring, accelerate product development, and expand sales through new channels.
