Indian startups can create huge handicraft market through e-commerce model: PM Modi

PM Modi’s PM VIKAS Yojana can assist the handicraft industry’s growth by utilizing private sector innovation.
Indian startups, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, may significantly contribute to the development of a sizable market for domestic handcraft items.
While addressing on March 11, PM Modi said that the e-commerce model has the potential to expand the market for regional handicrafts and added that entrepreneurs may help artists with a number of issues, including technology, design, packaging, and finance.
“Our startups can also create a huge market for handicraft products through (the) e-commerce model. These products can also get assistance from startups in better technology, design, packaging, and financing,” said Modi while addressing a post-budget webinar on PM Vishwakarma Kaushal Samman (PM VIKAS) Yojana.
The collaboration between the Indian private sector and regional craftsmen would be further strengthened, the prime minister added, thanks to the program. He continued by saying that by doing this, the nation will be able to benefit from the private sector’s creativity and commercial know-how in the handicrafts sector.
“Our aim is to turn today’s artisans into big entrepreneurs of tomorrow,” he added.
