Ambulance startup DIAL 4242 raised Rs 1 Cr Seed funding from Starfish Ventures, others

DIAL 4242, a provider of ambulance services, has raised Rs 1 crore in a seed round led by investors G Vamshi Raju, Starfish Ventures, and a number of Hyderabad-based angel investors.

According to a press release from the business, the funds will be used to improve and expand its services.

DIAL4242 is an online platform for scheduling ambulances in case of an emergency and was established by Jeetu Lalwanim. With a network spanning more than 750 cities and a fleet of 12,000 ambulances, the Mumbai-based startup claims to be able to provide emergency medical services in a record-breaking 15 minutes.

The company recently partnered with companies like Swiggy and Zomato and provided ambulance support for their delivery partners. For other clients, it also provides support for mobile medical units (MMUs).

In the market for booking ambulances, DIAL 4242 faces competition from companies like MeduLance, HelpNow, ESahai, AmbiPalm, and Mo Ambulance, among others. StanPlus, an ambulance startup, raised $20 million in its Series A round in January 2022. Healthquad, Kalaari Capital, and HealthX Singapore were the round’s leaders. The Hyderabad-based startup changed its name to RED.Health earlier this year and entered the air ambulance service market.
