Fintech platform HiWi raised Rs 7.25 Cr Pre-seed funding from Unicorn India

A pre-seed round of funding totalling Rs 7.25 crore was provided by Unicorn India Ventures and the Unmaj Group Family Office for the international fintech company HiWi.

According to a press release from HiWi, the funds will be used to advance product development and carry out a strategic go-to-market rollout.

HiWi serves as a centrally located and comprehensive solution for study abroad organizations and students. It was co-founded by Dewang Neralla, Geeta Chauhan, and Ujwal Tamminedi.

The platform provides a range of financial services, such as an app that lets students send money overseas, open foreign bank accounts, find financing options, control credit card spending, and accrue loyalty points.

By March 2025, Mumbai-based HiWi hopes to help more than 25,000 students send $100 million in remittances and add 5,000 educational consultants to its platform.

Unicorn India Ventures announced the first close of its third fund last month, totaling Rs 225 crore. FutureCure, SmartCoin, Open Bank, Sequretek, Pharmarack, Genrobotics, Clootrack, and Sequretek are all part of its portfolio.
