Marut Drones secured $6.2 M Series A funding
Lok Capital has contributed $6.2 million to the Series A round of the dronetech startup Marut Dronetech.
Custom agricultural drones will be developed, partner networks and service centers will be expanded in tier II-III cities for rural reach, and hubs providing “Drone-as-a-Service” through partnerships will be established with the proceeds.
In addition to its primary focus on agriculture, Marut Drones, a drone technology provider founded in 2019 by Prem Kumar Vislawath, Suraj Peddi, and Sai Kumar Chinthala, is investigating applications in disaster management and surveillance.
The Hyderabad-based startup says it has more than 200 employees, 750 drones, and more than 1,000 drone pilots in 14 Indian states.
Additionally, it wants to start 17 new drone academies to train qualified professionals, encourage drone entrepreneurship, hire professionals from all verticals, and improve its R&D activities.
A DGCA Type Certified medium category agricultural drone, the AG365H, was introduced by Marut last month. Pesticides, fertilizer granules, fish feeding, and more can all be done with the AG365H.
