AC Ventures, others led $6 M raised by healthcare marketplace HD
An investment round of US $6 million was completed by Partech Partners, M Venture Partners, AC Ventures, iSeed, and Orvel Ventures for HD, a healthcare marketplace located in Thailand.
HD, which was founded in 2019, uses its marketplace named HDmall, which is accessible in Thailand and Indonesia, to link patients to hospitals, clinics, operating rooms, and surgeons.
The firm introduced HDcare in November 2022, which is referred to as the “Airbnb for operations”. The method intends to increase operating room utilisation, which according to HD is low in private facilities.
According to the business, HDcare offers consumers 15% to 20% better price alternatives than market rates for operations including orthopedic, thyroid, and hemorrhoid surgery.
By 2024, HD hopes to have 300 operating rooms and more than 5,000 medical professionals available on its platforms.
“As we put the pandemic behind us, our investors and us see a once-in-a-lifetime supply-driven opportunity in HDcare that is very similar to how companies like Airbnb, Uber, and Groupon leveraged supply and emerged from the 2008 financial crisis,” said Sheji Ho, CEO, and co-founder of HD.
