Agritech startup Eeki raised $7 M led by Sixth Sense Ventures

Eeki, an agritech startup, has raised $7 million from Sixth Sense Venture investments. Following a lapse of over three years, the Kota-based startup has received new funding.
In its Series A round, which was led by General Catalyst, Eeki raised $6.5 million earlier in 2022. It had also raised $2 million a few months earlier in a round headed by Avaana Capital and others.
The most recent funding will be used by Eeki to grow its climate-resilient farming operations throughout India. Along with strengthening research and development, it will expand Eeki’s farming footprint and help the company roll out its Gen 3 aeroponic growing chambers.
Abhay Singh and Amit Kumar founded Eeki with the goal of creating a sustainable and scalable food production system. With its patented climate-controlled aeroponic chambers, it uses a novel farming model to produce pesticide-free staple vegetables all year long, even on bare land. By using a nutrient-rich mist and hanging plant roots in the air, aeroponics allows for precise control over growing conditions while using up to 95% less water than traditional farming.
Eeki can produce vegetables using this method at prices comparable to those of traditional agriculture, while still achieving consistent quality and higher yields.
While tackling environmental issues like soil erosion and water scarcity, the company concentrates on growing vegetables with higher nutritional value. In order to ease the strain on fertile farmland and guarantee the availability of fresh, local produce, Eeki’s farms can be established in areas that are not suitable for cultivation.
