AgriTech4Egypt Innovation Challenge invites applications to develop agri-tech solutions
Applications are now being accepted for the AgriTech4Egypt Innovation Challenge, which is seeking motivated scientists and businesspeople to develop agri-tech solutions for Egypt’s agricultural system to make it more effective, efficient, and climate resilient.
The goal of the AgriTech4Egypt Innovation Challenge is to support and equip early-stage agricultural technology companies in Egypt that have a proof of concept (POC) or minimum viable product (MVP) in order to gain market access and technical validation.
In key areas like precision farming and digital agriculture, agri-finance, tools for building capacity, sustainable value chain development, and effective irrigation water management, it is searching for agri-tech innovations.
Ventures that get selected will have access to a fully funded four-day immersive bootcamp, networking opportunities with agribusinesses and scientists from the CGIAR, a sponsored six-month acceleration program, and the tools and step-by-step guidance needed to build the foundations of an agri-tech venture for scalable growth in Egypt.
Along with receiving an equity-free grant of up to EGP300,000 (US $6,500) from ASRT, they will also have the opportunity to test and validate their solution with end users for a maximum of six months, as well as gain exposure to investors and prospective markets.
Applications are accepted until April 21. The accelerator program will run from June to October, with a demo day scheduled for November.
