AI startup Callmatic set to be launched by Mitron TV, TrainMan co-founders

According to media, Shivank Agarwal, co-founder and former CEO of the short video app Mitron TV, and Mohd Amir, the former co-founder of the online train ticket booking and information platform TrainMan, have partnered to launch a conversation artificial intelligence startup called Callmatic.

The conversational AI startup Callmatic, founded by Agarwal and Amir, automates the administration of incoming and outgoing calls to offer scalable customer outreach and lead qualification.

According to the company’s website, it uses generative AI technology to provide solutions for customer support, sales, healthcare, and recruitment.

Amir served as senior engineering manager at Microsoft prior to founding Callmatic. From October 2013 to March 2019, he was a co-founder of TrainMan. Adani Digital Labs purchased TrainMan, which was backed by Goodwater Capital, last year.

More than a dozen angel investors have also joined Callmatic, contributing $100,000 (about Rs 83.8 lakh) to the business. The aforementioned amount was invested in the Bengaluru-based startup by Abhishek Agarwal, Nilesh Ukey, Sumit Gupta, Abhishek Jain, Karan Attri, Kush Mishra, Manasi Jain, Naresh Kumar, Naveen Bansal, Rahul Kumar Sahu, Vineet Chirania, Gaurav Nemade, and Gunjan Sharma, according to data obtained from the RoC.

It’s important to note that Mitron TV and the colloquial microblogging site Koo were in acquisition talks. Koo, which recently ceased operations, also made a share swap investment of Rs 28.17 crore in Mitron TV.

It seems that following the failure of the agreement with Koo, Mitron TV quietly ceased operations in the middle of 2022. One of the few businesses that took advantage of the space left by TikTok’s ban in India was the app. Agarwal stayed on with the company until September 2022, according to his LinkedIn profile as well. In April 2022, Anish Khandelwal, the other co-founder of Mitron TV, returned to MakeMyTrip.
