Animoca Brands, a Hong Kong-based blockchain unicorn, stated its portfolio of investments, which spans more than 340 transactions, is worth more than US $1.5 billion as of April 30, 2022.
Gusto Collective, Untamed Planet, and Our Happy Company, a social commerce venture co-founded by musician John Legend, were among the firms in which the company has led fundraising rounds.
Animoca also reported $148 million in bookings and other income for the three months ended December 2021 and $573 million in bookings and other income for the four months ended April 2022.
While non-fungible token sales, such as secondary sales, non-blockchain operations, and token sales, are included in bookings, other revenue includes profits or losses on investments and digital asset holdings.
The Sandbox, Gamee, nWay, Blowfish Studios, Grease Monkey Games, Revv Motorsport, Crazy Defense Heroes, Quidd, Lympo, and Forj are among the firm’s core business units, according to the corporation.
“We firmly believe that Web3 represents the natural evolution of the Internet, of a future where digital property rights and the resulting economic freedom will
empower billions of online users in an interconnected series of open worlds and platforms,” Animoca co-founder Yat Siu said in a statement.
Meanwhile, as of April, Animoca has a cash balance of US $98 million, up from US $35.9 million in September 2021.
Its digital asset holdings, which include USD Coin, USD Tether, Binance USD, Ether, and Bitcoin, were valued at US $211 million in April of last year. In comparison to September 2021, this implies an 88 percent increase in holdings.
The company’s digital asset reserve, which includes tokens like as Sand, Umad, Quidd, Primate, Revv, Tower, and Gmee, is worth US$4.2 billion, up over 45 percent since September 2021.
