Ant International concludes $1.2 B Series A with Ant Group and Alibaba

With participation from current investors Ant Group and Alibaba Group as well as additional unidentified foreign investment institutions, Singapore’s Ant International has finalized a $1.2 billion Series A equity funding transaction.

Ant International said in a statement on Tuesday that it would use the money to promote international growth and product development in the areas of merchant payments, account management, and financial services for small and medium-sized businesses as well as bigger businesses worldwide.

Ant International operates mostly in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America and started operating independently in 2024. Through a network of banks, card companies, mobile payment providers, and tech firms, it links over 2 billion user accounts with over 150 million global retailers.

Alipay+, a cross-border payment gateway; Antom, a merchant payment and digitization service; WorldFirst, a business cross-border payment platform; and Bettr, a financial services platform, comprise its four business lines. Ant International uses AI to enhance its credit, treasury, and merchant payment technologies.
