Agriculture is the main source of income for many communities throughout Sub-Saharan Africa. However, millions of smallholder farmers still face barriers to advancement due to their limited access to formal financial systems, digital tools, and credit. Generational advancement, economic stability, and food security are all directly impacted by this issue.

Startups like Crop2Cash are therefore essential. The goal of the agritech company is to make agriculture easier to understand and give farmers the digital tools they need to succeed. Crop2Cash is helping to close the gap between unofficial agricultural communities and formal economic structures by assisting farmers in creating digital identities, guaranteeing credit availability, and facilitating traceable payments. Not only is their technology revolutionizing farming practices, but it is also opening up agriculture’s potential to drive economic growth from the ground up.

Google for Startups Accelerator Africa has helped a number of creative companies, including Crop2Cash. We started the program in 2018 with the intention of assisting startups throughout the continent in addressing challenging issues with innovative, technology-driven solutions. Over 140 startups in 17 African nations have collaborated with us since then, raising over $300 million and generating over 3,000 jobs.
