Baanhem Ventures raised Rs 3.3 Cr new funding from Mudhal Partners

Tech giant Mr. Kumar Vembu has contributed Rs 3.3 crore in new funding to Startup Thamizha’s creators, Baanhem Ventures, through his recently founded investment company Mudhal Partners.

Baanhem Ventures, which was established earlier this year by Hemachandran L. and Balachandar R., seeks to find, develop, and support first-generation native entrepreneurs from Tamil Nadu who have a strong sense of purpose and are next-generation innovators and job creators.

Startp Thamizha, the company’s flagship business reality TV show, has already landed three seasons of over Rs 200 crore in investment for startups from a number of prominent figures in the industry.

The show’s goal is to present an exceptional group of first-generation business owners from Tamil Nadu who are in the seed and growth stages. Additionally, it will encourage first-generation entrepreneurs by serving as a catalyst to encourage a change in the way HNIs think about investing in startups.

To further reinforce the state’s successful entrepreneurial legacy, the program—which will air on a GEC channel—will identify promising entrepreneurs and startups and offer the required financial support and mentorship.
