Berlin-based Bird Eats Bug acquired by Browserstack for $20 M
For $20 million, Berlin-based bug detection and reporting platform Bird Eats Bug was purchased by SaaS unicorn Browserstack.
Following this acquisition, BrowserStack will incorporate Bird Eats Bug’s features into its own ecosystem, resulting in the release of the manual testing tool Bug Capture.
Bird Eats Bug was founded in 2020 and helps companies save valuable engineering time by allowing non-technical users to generate detailed bug reports. In 2021, the company completed a seed round led by Nauta Capital.
“This acquisition marks a significant step towards our goal of providing developer and QA teams with a unified, seamless testing experience,” said Ritesh Arora, CEO and co-founder of BrowserStack.
With over two million tests run daily across 17 global data centers, BrowserStack claims to be one of the top software testing platforms. In addition to Mumbai, BrowserStack maintains offices in New York and Dublin.
The company works with BrowserStack Limited (the holding company in Ireland), which is made up of one business segment, to develop, design, support, and implement computer software for the various products and services.
In June 2021, after raising $200 million in Series B funding at a $4 billion valuation, BrowserStack became a unicorn.
