Beyond Renewables & Recycling raises Pre-seed funding from Momentum Capital

In a pre-seed funding round headed by US-based venture capital firm Momentum Capital and involving Venture Catalysts, IIMA Ventures, Oorjan Cleantech, and Gautam Das, the climate-tech startup Beyond Renewables & Recycling has raised Rs 5 crore.
In order to address India’s rapidly expanding solar waste crisis, Beyond Renewables & Recycling stated in a press release that the additional funds will be used to strengthen its waste supply chain, scale operations, and expedite the development of its proprietary recycling technology.
Beyond Renewables & Recycling is a sustainability-focused startup that Manhar Dixit and Vedant Taneja co-founded in 2024 with the goal of developing a circular economy for the solar industry. Over 95% of the component materials, including high-purity glass, silicon, silver, copper, and aluminum, are recovered when the company recycles end-of-life solar panels using its exclusive recycling technology.
According to a market study, India’s quick solar adoption is predicted to produce close to 1.2 million tons of solar PV waste by 2040; in an early-loss scenario, that figure could rise to 4.8 million tons.
Beyond Renewables turns hazardous waste into a valuable source of sustainably sourced minerals by extracting aluminum, glass, silicon, copper, and precious metals like silver with high purity using a combination of cutting-edge thermal and chemical treatments.
In order to ensure a steady supply of waste, Beyond Renewables claims to have created a multi-channel waste sourcing strategy in collaboration with asset developers, EPCs, manufacturers, and dismantlers. With more than 2,000 metric tons of solar waste already in the pipeline, the company is growing its alliances with asset owners, EPC companies, and module manufacturers.
With the help of NSRCEL and IIT Mandi Catalyst, the startup is also bolstering its sales channels and has obtained letters of intent from buyers for recycled silicon, glass, and other materials.
