Coimbatore: Coimbatore-based Bharathiar University will incubate startups from across the state of Tamil Nadu.
The Bharathiar School of Management and Entrepreneur Development (BSMED) inaugurated an Incubation Centre established under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan last week.
The Incubation Centre’s main aim to nurture young startups from all districts and help reduce failure rate. Initially five startups in IT, Eductech, Aerospace, Virtual Reality and Augumented Reality will be incubated. Four are from Coimbatore and one is from Chennai.
Rs 15 crore has been earmarked for the Incubation Centre, out of which Rs 2.5 crore will be used to fund startups.
