Brandmakerr acquired by India-based Pepperfry
For an unknown sum, Pepperfry, an online furniture retailer with headquarters in India, purchased Brandmakerr, a provider of interior solutions.
Rahul Kapuria, the creator of the latter, will now serve as vice president of Pepperfry. He will assume responsibility for turnkey solutions, civil and commercial interior design, and business solutions.
Following the acquisition, Pepperfry will commercially outfit businesses including banks, shops, lodging facilities, cafés, and restaurants.
With initiatives in 21 Indian cities, Brandmakerr was established in 2014. Among its customers include KFC, Pizza Hut, Hamleys, Starbucks, and Amazon.
In 2011, Ambareesh Murty and Ashish Shah founded Pepperfry. With investors including InnoVen Capital, Bertelsmann, Goldman Sachs, and Norwest Venture Partners, it has raised a total of US $285.3 million so far. According to reports, the company planned to apply for an IPO in the first half of 2022 with the goal of raising pre-IPO money by the end of the year. The company has not yet submitted a public listing request, though.
