BYTES obtains grant from WTFund of Nikhil Kamath

As part of its second cohort for 2024, BYTES, an AI-powered ADAS for two-wheeler mobility, has come out of stealth mode and received funding from Nikhil Kamath’s WTFund. To further its goal of improving road safety using state-of-the-art AI and computer vision technology, the company has obtained a non-dilutive grant of ₹20 lakh.
According to a press release from BYTES, the new funding will be utilized to start pilot projects with top two-wheeler OEMs and incorporate its AI safety system into practical applications.
Prakhar Agrawal and Aayush Kumar launched BYTES, an AI-powered Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) for two-wheeler mobility, in August 2024. In order to help riders prevent accidents, their cutting-edge AI models and proprietary vision technology offer real-time alerts and the ability to partially take control in emergency situations.
The company, which is based in Bengaluru, claims to have just introduced an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) for motorcycles. The Wadhwani Foundation, NVIDIA’s Inception Program for Startups, Microsoft for Startups, IIMB’s NSRCEL (an incubator for startups and entrepreneurs), and the WTFund all support the business.
According to market research, two-wheelers are responsible for 60% of the more than 50 million traffic accidents that happen worldwide each year. Ninety percent of these collisions are caused by human error, and the risk of death rises by forty percent when strong safety features are lacking.
The goal of BYTES is to ensure that no two-wheeler accident causes an avoidable death in the future. The company prioritizes technology and scalability in order to close the safety gap for two-wheelers.
To assist startups in scaling their impact, WTFund offers grant funding of up to Rs 20 lakh in addition to mentorship and strategic partnerships.
