CATAPULT: Inclusion Africa 2022 selected 15 fintech startups
From more than 400 submissions, fifteen African fintech companies have been chosen to take part in the fifth edition of CATAPULT: Inclusion Africa this week.
The program, which targets businesses focusing on financial inclusion in Africa, was created by the Luxembourg House of Financial Technologies (LHoFT), a public/private national FinTech platform, and is supported by the Ministry of Foreign & European Affairs’ Directorate for Development and Humanitarian Affairs. It aims to forge connections with Luxembourg’s microfinance and broader finance industries while highlighting their initiatives in line with Luxe’s sustainability goals.
The CATAPULT: Inclusion Africa initiative this year attracted over 400 high-quality applications, which is a record amount. The 15 startups that have been chosen to participate in the fifth edition have now been revealed by the LHoFT. This week, the startup acceleration Bootcamp will be held in Luxembourg (October 24-28).
AgrixTech, DanAid, and Nkwa are three of the chosen businesses from Cameroon, and Radava Mercentile, Hello Tractor, and Lami are three of the chosen businesses from Kenya. Alajo and Sosocare are the two representatives from Nigeria. The other members of the cohort are Africred from Mali, ChapChap Africa from Uganda, ComGrow from Zambia, Kayko from Rwanda, Proxalys from Senegal, Yalla Solutions from Egypt, and Servichain from Luxembourg.
For the chosen FinTech businesses, Catapult: Inclusion Africa offers an especially designed curriculum with rigorous coaching, mentorship, peer-to-peer learning, and focused seminars. Sessions on business model mapping, investment preparedness, finance and capital raising, social impact, scaling strategy, team building, operational management, investor advisory meetings, and pitch development will all be covered in the program. Additionally, a few startups will actively engage in the October 26–27 Arch Summit.
To attend the final pitch event and the FinTech Friday celebration, interested parties can register.
