Clime Capital led $10 M investment received by Nami Distributed Energy

$10 million has been invested in Nami Distributed Energy (Nami), a clean energy company based in Vietnam that provides creative distributed energy solutions for commercial and industrial clients, by Clime Capital, a fund manager based in Singapore that is dedicated to speeding up the low carbon transition.

The two said in a statement on Tuesday that the investment, which is made possible by the Southeast Asia Clean Energy Fund II (SEACEF II), is intended to help Nami’s rapid expansion and beneficial effects on Vietnamese companies.

The announcement claims that the investment coincides with Vietnam’s energy policy breakthrough, which is the enactment of Decree 80/2024/ND-CP on Direct Power Purchase Agreements (DPPA).

Significant opportunities for cost-effective distributed (direct line) and grid-connected renewable energy are created by the Decree.

Nami is in a good position to use the new investment to take advantage of its broad pipeline projects, industry knowledge, and solid human capital base to provide commercial and industrial clients throughout the nation with larger-scale on-site energy solutions, including rooftop solar.

“We are excited to partner with Clime Capital to bring the benefits of distributed energy to a broader range of businesses, helping them achieve their decarbonization and sustainable growth goals,

“Clime Capital’s investment in Nami underscores their confidence in our team, practices, and corporate governance, all central to our green business mission,” said Luu Hoang Ha, Chairman of Nami Distributed Energy.

He says that the company is well-positioned for the upcoming funding round and expansion with this investment and its large and quickly expanding project pipeline.

“With the Vietnamese government committed to carbon neutrality by 2050, we stand ready to collaborate with Clime Capital and other stakeholders to create even more positive impacts on our customers and the environment,” he added.

Founded by Vietnamese investors with a wealth of knowledge in the country’s energy industry, Nami Distributed Energy is a division of Nami Energy.

Businesses can obtain more affordable and sustainable power without any initial or recurring costs thanks to its solar energy solutions and other on-site solutions like energy efficiency measures and battery storage.

With major clients, the business is rapidly growing its pipeline projects and putting installations all over the country.
