Cybersecurity startup Treacle raised Rs 4 Cr Pre-seed funding from IPV

Inflection Point Ventures (IPV)-led cybersecurity startup Treacle has raised Rs 4 crore in its pre-seed funding round.

The funds that will be raised will be put toward partnerships, technical and commercial development, marketing, office costs, and Indian market expansion.

Treacle’s AI-based deception technology offers advanced protection by analyzing attacker behavior, diverting them into mirage networks, and sending early warnings to SOC analysts. The company is led by co-founders Subhasis Mukhopadhyay, Subhajit Manna, and Partha Das.

Furthermore, putting in place an AI-based early warning system improves its capacity to proactively detect threats in order to keep ahead of developing cyberthreats.

Treacle has obtained grants totaling Rs 26 lakhs in 2021 and 2022, respectively, from programs like the C3iHub and SISFS grants since its founding. In addition, the startup took part in a sponsored delegation trip to Dubai in 2022 as a representative of India under DPIIT.

Media reports that in 2023, seven deals totaling about $75 million were made by cybersecurity startups. This is the third funding in this area for 2024, which also includes TAC Security, backed by Vijay Kedia, and Silence Laboratories.

SentinelOne, a cybersecurity platform powered by artificial intelligence, purchased PingSafe earlier this year in exchange for cash and stock.
