Deeptech startup SpaceFields raises $5 M Pre-series A funding

Deeptech startup SpaceFields, based in Bengaluru, raised $5 million (roughly Rs 42 crore) in its pre-Series A round, which was led by Globaz Technologies. Other investors included Rockstud Capital, Venture Catalysts, Nithin Kamath’s Rainmatter, Burla Angel Network, Faad Capital, SIDBI, O2 Angels, and MeitY Startup Hub.
SpaceFields raised $1.3 million in seed funding in 2024 from Jamwant Ventures, HVB 88 Angels, and other investors before this round.
The money raised will be utilized to increase the company’s workforce in engineering, operations, and business departments, scale up production, and obtain important regulatory certifications.
SpaceFields, a company founded in 2021 by Apurwa Masook, Rounak Agrawal, and Sudarshan Samal, creates rocket propulsion systems for use in aerospace and defense. It has constructed solid-fuel propulsion systems for rockets, spacecraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Through the Ministry of Defence’s iDEX initiative, the startup has already obtained four defence contracts and received patents for four propulsion technologies that were developed domestically.
SpaceFields and lead investor Globaz will work together to create vital, independent, dual-purpose technologies for India’s aerospace and defense value chain as part of the round. Globaz is a Delhi NCR-based business that specializes in the design, production, testing, and assembly of defense and aerospace electronics.
