Digital invoicing & customer engagement startup BillMe acquired by fintech unicorn Razorpay
BillMe, a digital invoicing and customer engagement startup based in Mumbai, has been acquired by Razorpay, a full-stack payments and banking platform for businesses.
According to a press release from the company, Razorpay’s partnership with BillMe is strategically planned to enable businesses using a hybrid model to interact with clients more effectively. Additionally, it intends to transform a straightforward bill into a multifaceted tool that will help businesses better understand, interact with, and target their clientele.
BillMe, which was founded in 2018, replaces paper bills with digital invoices to significantly increase value for retailers. According to the startup, it has managed more than 15,000 retail point-of-sale systems for companies like McDonald’s, Burger King, Decathlon, Baggit, Relaxo Footwear, and Cinepolis, among others.
The most recent acquisition is Razorpay’s eighth overall. It acquired PoshVine in September 2021. Ezetap, IZealiant Technologies, Curlec, TERA Finlabs, Opfin, and ThirdWatch are all part of the unicorn fintech company’s portfolio.
Over the past ten years, Razorpay, now valued at $7.5 billion, has steadily changed the way that businesses accept payments and conduct banking operations.
