Docquity secured $44 M Series C funding from Itochu, others
A series C funding round headed by Japan’s Itochu Corporation, which contributed US $32 million to the deal, brought in $44 million for the Singapore-based healthtech business Docquity.
Additionally taking part in this round were IGlobe Partners, Alkemi, Global Brain, KDV, and Infocom, bringing Docquity’s total fundraising to date to around $57.5 million USD.
Docquity is a platform that links licensed doctors with one another. It was founded in 2015. Currently, it operates in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, and Taiwan, and has more than 300,000 physicians registered on its platform.
The business claimed to have assisted 250 medical associations in Southeast Asia in creating educational materials and fulfilling mandated CME requirements. According to Docquity, its income increased by a factor of two in 2021.
Along with Amit Vithal and Abhishek Wadhwa, Indranil Roychowdhury, a former employee of Cisco and Oracle, established the healthtech business. It received $11 million in US dollars in a series B fundraising round in 2019 that was headed by Itochu Corporation.
The business intends to utilize the new capital to start with the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt before expanding into Japan and the Middle East. Additionally, it plans to provide fresh programs including a virtual clinic feature and cohort-based training for medical professionals.
