Edtech platform Kreedo raised $4 M Series A funding
The Singapore-based Heritas Capital and longtime supporter UBS Optimus Foundation led a $4 million Series A funding round for the edtech platform Kreedo. Other current investors including Joka Angel Network, Chennai Angels, Gray Matters Capital, and 1Crowd participated in the round as well.
According to a press release from Kreedo, the money raised will be utilized to improve product offerings and enter new Indian regions.
Kreedo, which was co-founded in 2012 by Mridula Shridhar and VK Manikandan, collaborates with reasonably priced private schools and preschools with the goal of revolutionizing early childhood education. The Kreedo Activity Labs, which provide a controlled setting for play-based learning, serve as the foundation of the creative 6T learning framework.
In compliance with the play-based guidelines outlined in the NEP 2020 for the foundational stage of learning, Kreedo reports that it currently serves children between the ages of 3 and 8 (Nursery to Grade 2). With the help of the platform, schools can greatly enhance their learning outcomes by having access to a comprehensive solution.
By incorporating play as the main mode of instruction in its partner schools during the foundation years, Kreedo claims to be resolving this issue on a large scale. Kreedo claims to have experienced substantial growth over the past two years, having doubled its revenue, reached 1,700 schools and pre-schools, and seen a rise in the number of children benefited from its programs from 55,000 to over 1,40,000.
Moving up to grades 3-5, Kreedo plans to expand the range of products it offers and improve its digital home learning platform, Practico. Along with expanding its pre-primary teacher training franchise program, the platform plans to create a pool of qualified, job-ready teachers for both its partner schools and the early education market as a whole.
