Egypt’s autotech FriendyM received $2 M funding

The first-ever car management and maintenance application in Egypt, “FriendyM,” was released recently, marking a significant advancement in the use of technology and creative, clever solutions to improve citizens’ lives.

FriendyM, an autotech company based in Egypt, has invested $2 million.

FriendyM, which was founded in 2016 by Abdelrahman Elgamal, provides a number of auto services via its platform, including maintenance, monitoring vehicle expenses, and concierge services.

Currently, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are among the nations where the application is functional. Additionally, it serves clients in the governorates of Alexandria and Cairo who have investments exceeding $2 million. Additionally, it wants to grow into every governorate in the Arab Republic of Egypt and reach 100,000 cars on the application in the first year.

With the additional funding, FriendyM—which is currently operating in Cairo, Alexandria, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia—will be able to expand its services to all governorates in Egypt.

“FriendyM” sends notifications to remind you of the car’s scheduled maintenance appointments, the necessary maintenance procedures, and it also assists in estimating the average cost of the operation based on the car data that the user registers through the application. Furthermore, the application handles car expenses like parking fees, cleaning, and fuel bills.

The application helps with expense management and rationalization by enabling all invoices to be linked to the user’s account and by offering an expense analysis service that shows which items are the most expensive.

One of the most significant features of the application is the ability to schedule maintenance appointments at competitive prices through the specialized maintenance centers located on the application, as well as the provision of technical support service through the “Chat Support” feature to communicate with mechanical engineers and specialists to respond to inquiries. It also generates a full record of cars in the event that they are sold, and offers emergency SOS services.

Additionally, in order to offer unique services, the “FriendyM” app is working to launch its Lite and Elite concierge services soon, charging a monthly fee. If you are a subscriber to the Elite concierge service, you can request relief cars in an emergency or replacement cars if your car needs maintenance that takes several days.

A committed mechanical engineer will check in on your vehicle once a quarter as part of the Lite concierge service. Additionally, clients who purchase either of the two packages receive special discounts from Elite Concierge service of up to 25% off annual insurance subscriptions and maintenance fees.

Abdelrahman Elgamal, founder and CEO of “FriendyM” application, said: “We are happy to launch “FriendyM” in Egypt, which required our hard efforts and dedication to work through a professional and enthusiastic team to provide innovation and technology to our customers”.

He added, ” We also seek to exploit the digital transformation revolution brought about by the Egyptian state to enhance our presence in Egypt, meet the needs of our customers, and provide a unique experience.”

Elgamal added, “We aim to reach all segments of society, especially women because they are naturally less experienced in knowing what concerns the technical aspect of the car. Besides, we will work to help them, through our innovative digital solutions, perform periodic and emergency maintenance, and we will provide them with the necessary advice to reach the highest performance of the car.”
