Emergency response app Namola acquired by SA public safety startup Community Wolf

Namola, the nation’s most reliable emergency response app, has been acquired by South African startup Community Wolf, which is reimagining public safety by developing AI-powered safety technology.
Community Wolf is an AI-powered public safety platform that turns WhatsApp into a network for community intelligence and crime reporting throughout South Africa. Without downloading a new app, anyone can use the platform to send anonymous incident reports via WhatsApp in the form of text, voice, images, or location pins.
Namola, on the other hand, is the top mobile safety and emergency response app in South Africa. It allows users to send their GPS location and incident details to a 24/7 response center in order to instantly request help via an SOS button, whether it’s police, ambulance, fire/rescue, or private security.
Community Wolf’s acquisition of Namola unites two of the most recognizable safety platforms in South Africa and integrates professional emergency response and community intelligence, two crucial safety layers, into a single integrated model. Within the Community Wolf ecosystem, Namola will remain a stand-alone product.
“We have deep respect for the Namola brand, its founders and previous leadership. With renewed focus and energy, we believe Namola can regain its status as the household name in private emergency services in South Africa,” said Community Wolf’s co-founder Nick Mills.
