EON Space Labs received $1.2 M Pre-series A funding

A pre-Series A fundraising round led by MGF Kavachh and including HHV Advanced technology has received $1.2 million (about Rs 10.5 crore) for EON Space Labs, a deeptech business based in Hyderabad that specializes in imaging technology.
According to a news release from EON, the money will be used to support future product launches, grow the technical staff, and scale production of its AI-driven electro-optical and infrared payloads.
EON Space Labs is a deeptech startup incubated at IIT Madras that was co-founded in 2022 by Sanjay Kumar, Punit Badeka, and Manoj Kumar Gaddam. The company is creating next-generation Earth Observation (EO) imaging payloads for satellites, drones, and ground systems. The startup lowers deployment costs without sacrificing image quality by designing and producing high-resolution electro-optic and infrared (EO/IR) systems that are up to three times lighter and more compact than traditional payloads.
From optical design to in-house prototyping and manufacturing, EON’s vertically integrated model guarantees speed, accuracy, and control throughout the entire value chain. This is demonstrated by its flagship products, the MIRA space telescope, which is undergoing validation, and the LUMIRA EO/IR platform, which has received military certification.
After successful proof of concept demonstrations, the business has already won many commercial orders and is forming international alliances to access global markets. With the use of drones and ground-based surveillance platforms, it intends to introduce four new versions of its LUMIRA EO/IR imaging systems, which are intended for long-range detection of people, cars, threats, and UAVs.
