Fashion brand Freakins secured $4 M Seed funding from Matrix Partners India, Blume Ventures

Freakins, an Indian fashion company, received $4 million in its seed round, which was led by Matrix Partners India and Blume Ventures.

Freakins is a denim-focused direct-to-consumer clothing brand that was established in 2021 by Shaan Shah and Puneet Sehgal. The Gen Z-focused company has amassed a catalog of more than 1,500 styles, which it claims accommodates various body types.

Among the other investors were Revant Bhate, Navin Agarwal, Chakradhar Gade, Utkrishta Kumar, Asish Mohapatra, Aayush Wadhwa, Tarini Shah, and Agastya Shah.

The additional funding will be used by Freakins to increase its team size, enter new markets, and introduce new fashion trends. The company also seeks to collaborate with mills that make woven, knit, and denim fabrics in order to improve its supply chain capabilities.

The textile and apparel market in India is anticipated to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 14.59% over the following six years, reaching a value of US $387.3 billion by 2028.
