Fifteen emerging tech businesses participate in HORIBA India’s Innovation Connect

At the first HORIBA Innovation Connect in New Delhi, fifteen companies in the fields of sensors, flow control, spectroscopy, optics and photonics, quantum technology, deposition technology, lab-grown diamonds for semiconductor applications, and automation presented their discoveries.

The startups were chosen from about 100 registrants from all over India. They presented their technologies to a panel of experts and discussed their potential for future development and use with HORIBA’s technical and leadership teams.

The project is a component of the business’s ongoing attempts to improve its external innovation pipeline and interact with up-and-coming digital firms.

Technical preparedness, innovation and differentiation, pitch quality, commercialization potential, and strategic fit were the criteria used to assess the participating firms. Sandeep Singh, Anil Handoo, R.K. Malhotra, Ashwini Aggarwal, and Masayuki Adachi made up the jury.

The Gold Prize was jointly given to NeosLab and Matterwave, with each winner receiving Rs 1 lakh, while the Platinum Prize went to CLUIX along with a prize of Rs 2 lakh. The prizes acknowledged the technology’ inventiveness, promise, and strategic importance.

Innovation Connect was designed to foster ongoing communication between HORIBA and participating startups after the prizes. Opportunities to investigate R&D and co-development projects, as well as continuous technical assistance from HORIBA specialists, will be provided to certain companies. Additionally, HORIBA India will assess technology, commercial potential, and strategic alignment.

“Rajeev Gautam, President, HORIBA India, said, “The response to the first edition of Innovation Connect reflects the depth of India’s emerging technology ecosystem and the breadth of innovation being developed across areas closely connected to the future of measurement, analysis, and industrial technology.”

While HORIBA India assesses possible strategic pathways, such as investment, licensing, and acquisition, based on technology and business potential, the engagement with participating startups will continue after the event. Selected ventures will receive ongoing technical guidance and opportunities for R&D and co-development.

HORIBA creates technologies for measurement and analysis to satisfy customers’ changing demands across the globe. It helps a variety of industries and applications that tackle global societal concerns through local sites and group firms spread over 29 countries and regions.
