First close of $50 M fund announced by VC firm Physis Capital
Physis Capital, a venture capital firm that specializes in growth-stage investing, has announced the first close of a $50 million CAT II fund.
The launch of Physis Capital, an angel investment platform run by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), with a green shoe option for an additional $25 million, was announced in March 2022.
Startups looking to raise pre-Series A to Series B capital by Q3 2023 will receive investment from Physis Capital. The first close has reportedly reached $7 million and is on schedule to be the final close in 2024, according to the fund. It plans to develop a portfolio of 15-20 startups with $2.5 million average ticket sizes.
“While a majority of funds raised by Physis Capital so far are from Indian investors belonging to HNIs and family offices, we are now receiving significant interests from investors across multiple international locations including Singapore, USA, and UAE,” said Mitesh Shah, partner at Physis Capital.
In order for Physis to be successful in accessing special investment opportunities, the Gurugram-based company will also put a strong emphasis on deal sourcing and pipeline-building strategies.
