First Tech Startup Community Awards ceremony in Qatar hosted by Startup Grind

Grind of Startup In order to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of individuals and startups that propel innovation and expansion in Qatar’s tech ecosystem, the local chapter of the global startup community, Qatar, organized the Tech Startup Community Awards Program. The startup collaboration and data platform Arisio.io provided support for this first edition of the awards program.

This initiative, which focused on celebrating community success, sought to raise awareness of the work being done by those who help create a vibrant entrepreneurial environment.

“Community is at the heart of everything we do at Startup Grind Qatar,” said SGQ Chapter Director. “These awards are not just about recognising excellence; they’re about showcasing the power of collaboration and the spirit of innovation in our local ecosystem.”

HE Sheikh Mansoor Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Chairman of MBK Holdings, was a Guest of Honor at the event, gave his thoughts on the importance of community. Community is vital in any nation because, as he underlined, people are one of the most crucial components of creating a successful ecosystem.

The award categories featured diverse categories to ensure that contributions across various fields were acknowledged: –

Community builder of the year: Ramzan Al Naimi

Mentor of the Year: Marcel Dridje

Startup trainer of the year: Emad Saif

Idea stage startup of the year: Tatami

Growth stage startup of the year: SkipCash

Tech disruptor of the Year: Tenn.Ai

Most value-added investor: Qatar Development Bank

Female founder of the Year: Reema Al Kuwari

Breakthrough startup of the year: Wqtah

In this first year of the Community Awards, the community received more than 150 nominations. In front of a sizable contingent of Qatar’s startup community, the awards ceremony took place at Workinton on January 13th, perfectly encapsulating the initiative’s community component.

The Startup Grind Qatar Partners and Sponsors who have been assisting this community project were also recognized at the ceremony.

Google Developers Group Qatar, Workinton Qatar, eHARIS, The Founder Majlis, Innovation Café, Mangusteen, The Observatory of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and Business Startup Qatar are partners of Startup Grind Qatar.

The US-based Startup Grind is the largest community of startups, founders, innovators, and creators worldwide, and the Startup Grind Qatar Chapter is a part of it.
