Fodder ecosystem builder Cornext raised $2.2 M Seed funding from Omnivore
Cornext has raised $2.2 million in a seed round from Omnivore. Cornext is creating an ecosystem for fodder to support farmers who raise dairy cattle.
Cornext says the money will go toward investing in research and development for baling technology as well as increasing annual silage production to one million metric tons by 2026.
Using technology developed by Madhav Kshatriya and Feroz Ahmed, Cornext was founded in 2015. Its technology produces small 50 kg silage bales that are sold to dairy farmers via a network of village-level fodder entrepreneurs.
In India, the startup has so far trained 400 fodder entrepreneurs, and it has started exporting its silage baling equipment to Latin America, Asia, and Africa.
The Department of Animal Husbandry in Hyderabad has Cornext, a Hyderabad-based company, on its National Advisory Council. The government of India awarded the startup the national best startup award in agriculture-related sectors in 2020.
AMUL, SUMUL, BANAS, MILMA, KMF, and numerous other sizable dairies and cooperatives are among its institutional clients as of now.
