Food startup Meals in Minutes received $1.5 M from 500 Global to expand its operations

Meals in Minutes, a Malaysian food startup, announced on Wednesday that it had raised $1.5 million in a seed round of funding.

A private investor is also involved in the round, which is being led by 500 Global, an early-stage venture fund and seed accelerator, according to a statement from Meals in Minutes.

With the help of this new round of funding, Meals in Minutes will expand throughout Singapore and Malaysia and even set up shop in the UK.

Along with strengthening the marketing campaign to reach more target consumers in all markets, the funding will also go toward research and development to increase Meals in Minutes’s range of food products.

According to Meals in Minutes, the company will keep growing and is always searching for new sources of funding and business ventures.

“The funding will be focused on achieving key milestones such as successfully launching in the United Kingdom market, product development, and building a robust foundation for future growth across all markets,” said Vin Vin Khu, Chief Financial Officer of Meals in Minutes.

Meals in Minutes is a food startup that was founded in 2020 by Brandon Lim and Khiara Mia, who are the respective founder and co-founder. With its frozen, vacuum-packed, ready-to-cook meals, customers can prepare a gourmet meal in just 15 minutes.

All meals are completely HALAL, HACCP, and ISO 22000 certified, flash-frozen, individually portioned to minimize food waste, and free of any additional artificial ingredients or genetically modified ingredients.

“Meals In Minutes was founded with the vision of simplifying cooking for individuals leading busy lives, offering them the opportunity to enjoy high-quality, clean, and nutritious meals without the associated hassle and requisite culinary skills,

“Additionally, recognizing the considerable advantages of this concept, we anticipated its positive impact on business and cafe owners who aspire to provide food services but lack the necessary equipment and resources to operate a fully equipped kitchen,” said Lim.
