Harvested Robotics raised Rs 5 Cr Seed funding from Anand Mahindra, others

A seed funding round led by Arali Ventures has raised Rs 5 crore for Harvested Robotics, a startup company developing AI-driven laser weeding technology for tractors. Chakradhar Gade, a co-founder of Country Delight, and Anand Mahindra, the chairman of the Mahindra Group, also participated in the round.

Harvested Robotics has raised $21.8K in two funding rounds, the most recent of which was a $12K grant from the Kerala Startup Mission in June 2024.

In a press release, Harvested Robotics stated that the money raised would be utilized for pilots, team building, and product development.

Rahul Arepaka and George Mathew co-founded Harvested Robotics in 2023 with the goal of giving farmers a chemical-free, sustainable substitute for conventional weed control.

An AI-powered laser weeder that mounts to tractors is the product of the Hyderabad-based company. It detects weeds using cameras and AI models, and it burns them in real time using robotic actuators equipped with powerful lasers. Increased yields, lower farmer costs, and support for organic farming are the goals of the technology. It guarantees accurate weed removal without causing crop damage.

In order to provide a potentially cost-effective solution, Harvested Robotics uses robotic hardware and flexible software that can be mounted on tractors and driven by them. The startup eliminates the problems caused by the high labor and cost of current weed control techniques.
