Healthtech Bharosa announced India’s first dedicated patient experience platform launch

Gurgaon, July 29, 2024—Bharosa, a health tech company based in Gurgaon, announces the launch of India’s first dedicated patient experience platform. This initiative addresses the issue of big tech neglect and provides patients with a safe space to share their experiences and reviews of medical professionals.

“Indian patients are itching to speak out but are neglected by big tech. Bharosa aims to solve that problem by creating a dedicated experience-sharing platform for patients,” said Vandit Jain, Co-founder & CEO of Bharosa. “We want to become the Glassdoor for Indian healthcare, which is such an obvious solution to the problem, yet no one thought about it because they don’t see patient experience as a problem.”

Dr. Amit Gupta, Co-founder & Chief Medical Officer, added, “Indian patients are struggling to find the best doctor. They don’t trust anything online, and most medics have gamed the review system, making it extremely challenging for patients to know the full picture.”

In its first phase, Bharosa is going hyper-local by launching in Gurgaon. Patients can now submit detailed feedback and reviews about doctors while protecting their identities. Each review is verified via proof of visit, i.e. a prescription copy or invoice.  This unique verification method and local focus aim to ensure high accuracy and trust in the reviews provided.

Nidhi Bharani, Co-founder and Chief AI Officer added, “Our AI integration and development is in full swing, and you will see us recreating search and discovery in the next three months.”

Dr. Amit Gupta emphasised, “Doctor and medical experiences are such technical professions that it’s unfair to rate them like a McDonald’s experience with 4 and 5 stars. It has to be more nuanced and should give patients much more insight. That is our endeavour.”

Vandit concluded, “It will be a complete democratisation of Indian healthcare, a task long pending since its inception and an opportunity missed by health-tech companies that came before us.”

Bharosa has dedicated INR 5 lakhs to patient causes to support the patient community further and reimburses prescriptions up to INR 500 for patients who share their experiences on the platform.

Feedback And Reviews Management Software Market size is valued at USD 10.11 Billion in 2024 and is projected to reach USD 28.04 Billion by 2031, growing at a CAGR of 13.60% from 2024 to 2031 as per the forecast by VMR (Verified Market Research)

Leading names like Practo, Medibuddy, and Lybrate capture the bulk of the health tech market in India. Although Bharosa is not involved in the referral and booking system for doctors, it remains to be seen how this review platform will impact the healthcare landscape.
