Healthtech startup Babynama raised $700K Seed funding from Good Capital

The digital platform for pediatric care, Babynama, has raised $700,000 in its seed round, which was led by Good Capital. Amplify and angel investors, including Abhishek Sharma (founder of Fashinza), Ankit Gupta (founder of Bicycle Health), Akshay Saxena (founder of Avanti), Dhruv Dhanraj Bahl (former COO of BharatPe), and other founders from the IIT Bombay network, also participated in the round.

The money raised will go toward expanding its marketing efforts, hiring more pediatricians and support personnel, and improving its technological infrastructure.

In June 2022, Dr. Sumitra Meena and Ashish Meena founded Babynama, a chat-first platform that provides access to pediatric specialists. Babynama promises to provide parents with prompt, dependable, and individualized care, having answered over 1.5 million questions with an average response time of less than two minutes.

The platform’s primary focus areas are community engagement, parent education, technology-driven care, a committed team of doctors, and round-the-clock pediatric support.

Babynama says it has accomplished milestones since its founding, such as helping almost 2 lakh parents get timely care and spotting early warning signs of serious conditions in children like respiratory distress, epilepsy, autism, and ADHD. Additionally, the platform has more than 10,000 paying users and provides a variety of services to help moms and babies.

Babynama intends to introduce developmental initiatives that focus on important facets of a child’s growth, third-trimester care programs, and interactive workshops to empower parents in the future.
