Healthy food brand Salad Days raised Rs 30 Cr Series A funding

Salad Days, a healthy food brand, has raised Rs 30 crore ($3.6 million) in a Series A funding round led by Client Associates Alternate Fund (CAAF) and V3 Ventures. Notably, after more than a decade of successfully operating as a bootstrapped business, this is the company’s first institutional funding round.

According to a press release from the company, the new funding will be used to expand omnichannel and improve operational capabilities. Salad Days will prioritize hiring top talent, opening new stores, improving technology infrastructure, and stepping up marketing efforts.

Founded in 2014, Salad Days has 12 locations in Delhi-NCR, 9 in Bengaluru, and 4 in Mumbai, operating through a network of 25 cloud kitchens. In addition to salads, the brand’s menu features soups, cold-pressed juices, smoothies, grain bowls, pita pockets, oatmeal bowls, sandwiches, and desserts.

“As India’s healthy food market expands rapidly, projected to reach $30 billion by 2026, we’re uniquely positioned to cater to the growing demand for healthy and wholesome meals at affordable price points,” said Varun Madan, founder and CEO of Salad Days.

Salad Days currently sells through major food aggregators like Swiggy, Zomato, and ONDC in addition to its website and centralized phone lines.

One of the main rivals of Salad Days is Bombay Salad Co.
