India is on its way to becoming the third-largest startup economy in the world. Startups are growing rapidly in India and to further discuss this roadmap, “Antrapreneur,” the Business Incubator run by LJ University, Ahmedabad organized an event called ‘India: A Startup Nation.’ The event was held in Gujarat on 29th December. The event had experienced people in their fields including Shri TV Mohandas Pai, Amitabh Shah, investors, startup founders, and teenpreneurs, etc., and the audience present there. Mohandas Pai, a chartered accountant by profession was also the director of Infosys. He was decorated with a Padma Shri Award in 2015 and currently he is the chairman of Manipal Global Education. Amitabh Shah founder of Yuva Unstoppable.
During the event, Mohandas Pai focused on emphasizing the need for developing the latest technology and making sure that startups are sustainable and profitable. He said “Indians excel at both tech and managing startups. India has been exporting tech services to so many countries. And Indian-origin employees are also preferred by unicorns in the US. So, this deadly combination could work out in the favor of Indian startups as well. They have the potential to become as powerful and as popular as the unicorns of the West.”
The event was hosted and compared by Entrepreneur CEO Viral Shah who also conducted a question-answer session. “Startup ecosystem flourishes with co-incubation, co-investments, and co-operation,” said Viral Shah. The event also focused on some of the drawbacks and restrictions that have caused Ahmedabad to show slow growth in the startup space.
