India and US unite with IndusX to build defense innovation bridge
In a new move, India and the USA have joined forces to establish a groundbreaking initiative called IndusX. IndusX aims to create a solid defense innovation bridge between India and the USA. This strategic partnership marks the first-ever collaborative effort in the field of defense.
Commenting on the launch, Ambassador (retired), Atul Keshap, President of USIBC, said, “Indus-X is a direct outgrowth of ICET. Both India’s Ministry of Defense (MoD) and the US department of defense (DOD) have asked us to host a gathering of defense startups in both the countries, and companies in incubator phase. Both countries want to encourage them to partner with each other. Both NSAs are deeply invested in Indus-X.”
He further added, “ICET is as important as the nuclear deal. This is very serious business. When you think about how both countries are worried about geostrategic currents, looking at, and working together with each other on future tech and deep tech is really important.”
National Security Advisers (NSAs) of both the countries, Ajit Doval and Jake Sullivan, the US-India Business Council are set to host Indus-X. The newly launched platform which will build a robust connection between the government and startups. The platform will be launched on 20th June, continuing till 21st June.
IndusX has the potential to revolutionize defense technology cooperation and strengthen bilateral ties. The initiative will offer a dynamic ecosystem that encourages extensive R&D along with innovation in the defense sector.
Both the countries are looking to enhance their partnership in the fields of cybersecurity, AI, and space technology, among others. This partnership is expected to exchange knowledge, joint research, and development projects, technology transfers, and the establishment of innovation hubs in both countries.
