Indies Capital, AC Ventures ink pact with Penjana Kapital
Indies Capital Partners and AC Ventures, two private investment companies with offices in Indonesia, have signed a memorandum of collaboration with Penjana Kapital, an investment vehicle funded by the Malaysian government.
In accordance with their collaboration, the three parties will look into co-investment possibilities for growth-stage businesses in Malaysia and Indonesia. The agreement also calls for the exchange of technology and expertise in the waste management, education, hotel, and data center industries.
“Through cross-border cooperation and investment, our firms have the opportunity to tap into new markets, access new sources of capital and expertise, as well as drive innovation and growth in both markets,” said Pandu Sjahrir, managing partner at Indies Capital Partners and founding partner at AC Ventures.
Penjana Kapital, a government project launched in 2020, aims to hasten the growth of startups in Malaysia. It manages Dana Penjana Nasional, an investment fund with a 600-million-ringgit (about US$137 million) cap that matches international contributions 1:1.
A credit-focused investment manager that was established in 2009 is Indies Capital Partners. It presently manages assets worth more than US $800 million.
A venture capital business, AC Ventures manages more than $500 million in assets. Among the notable startups in its portfolio are Shipper, Astro, and Aruna.
