Indonesian carbon management provider Jejakin raised additional $2.7 M funding

Jejakin, a climate technology company with headquarters in Indonesia that specializes in carbon management platforms, has raised an additional $2.7 million.

Jejakin said in a statement on Monday that notable corporates include PT ITM Bhinneka Power, as well as other prominent venture capital firms in Southeast Asia and corporates like Indogen Capital, SMDV, and East Ventures.

The announcement states that this funding will be distributed among many important areas, such as market expansion, technological advancement, R&D, and others.

Jejakin hopes to expand its user base, improve platform features, and encourage more businesses and people to take up climate action with the help of this new funding.

“We are confident the funding will drive us forward in our mission to enhance environmental conditions by accelerating climate actions with technology,” said Arfan Arlanda, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Jejakin.

Arfan Arlanda, Sudono Salim (Chief Growth Officer), Andreas Djingga (Chief Operation Officer), and Haris Iskandar (Chief of Sustainability and Climate Change) founded Jejakin in 2018 with the goal of enabling organizations and people to have a positive environmental impact.

The co-founders think that in order to combat climate change, businesses and individuals must work together.

Climate change is acknowledged as one of the most significant issues facing the planet today, affecting every country, including Indonesia.

According to a report by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Indonesia is among the nations most susceptible to the effects of climate change, with rising sea levels, extreme weather, and disruptions to agricultural production.

Acknowledging this urgency, the Indonesian government has moved quickly.

They recently established a mandatory carbon market and have long been involved in the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM).

The enhanced nationally determined contribution (ENDC) targets are national commitments to cut greenhouse gas emissions for particular industries, such as manufacturing and energy, and this new market seeks to meet them.

Innovative solutions, such as Jejakin’s platform, have a great chance to help businesses achieve these important sustainability targets because of this progressive policy.

To help businesses meet their zero emissions targets, Jejakin provides artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) based solutions.
