Indonesian telemedicine platform Good Doctor acquired by WhiteCoat

The largest insurer and corporate client network in Indonesia’s telemedicine platform, Good Doctor Indonesia, is set to be acquired by WhiteCoat Global, a digital healthcare provider with headquarters in Singapore.

In a statement released last Friday, WhiteCoat Global said that this historic agreement will establish the largest and most extensive digital healthcare group in the region, one that will collaborate with over 7,500 corporate partners and over 130 insurers to provide care for over 6.8 million insured lives.

Dubbed the largest merger and acquisition involving two prominent telehealth companies in Southeast Asia to date, the agreement combines Good Doctor’s leading position in Indonesia’s digital health space with WhiteCoat’s extensive experience developing and delivering omnichannel integrated healthcare services across multiple markets in collaboration with the region’s top insurers and corporations.

The companies when combined will provide the region with an unmatched range of online and in-person health and wellness solutions.

Along with the purchase of Good Doctor, WhiteCoat also successfully closed a new round of funding led by Raffles Family Office (RFO). Additionally, WhiteCoat is pleased to welcome new investors MDI Ventures (MDI) and The SoftBank Vision Fund (SVF).

“Our strategic acquisition of Good Doctor is a transformative moment for the healthcare industry in Southeast Asia,

“It positions WhiteCoat as the region’s largest digital healthcare group providing seamless entry points across a wide range of care verticals including telehealth, establishing a highly accessible single touchpoint for all health and wellness needs,” WhiteCoat Founder and Chief Executive Officer Bryan Koh said.

He said that as a group, they are aggressively looking for new chances while being cautious with how they spend their money to guarantee steady expansion.

“We will be seeking funding at the right time to fuel our next phase of growth, which will involve scaling our omnichannel services through the integration of cutting-edge GenAI capabilities,

“By embracing digital innovation, we aim to raise the bar on patient care and ensure that quality healthcare is within reach for everyone,” he added.

As per his statement, this action not only reinforces their market position in the biggest economy in Southeast Asia but also highlights their dedication to providing inventive, technology-driven healthcare services and striving to improve healthcare availability not only for their insured members but also for the region’s over 650 million inhabitants.

At Good Doctor, however, they believe in the value of easily accessible healthcare, according to CEO Danu Wicaksana.

“Our partnership with WhiteCoat reinforces our commitment to our promise: ‘One Doctor for Every Family in Indonesia’,

“Together, we will enhance healthcare access and quality, delivering comprehensive digital and in-person care tailored to the unique needs of Indonesian families,” he added.
