Instant food brand Yu raised Rs 20 Cr Series A funding
Yu, an instant food brand, completed a follow-on Series A round in November 2022 and raised Rs 20 crore. Ashish Kacholia and Asian Paints Promoter Group (Manish Choksi, Varun Vakil) led the round.
Yu claims that the money will be utilized to expand into new product categories and market segments while increasing manufacturing capacity.
Yu was founded in 2021 by Bharat Bhalla and Varun Kapur. Since then, the company has grown to offer ready-to-cook noodles, pastas, and natural beverages in addition to instant bowls. The company introduced its line of natural coconut water last year, and this summer, it plans to expand its selection of beverages.
Within the next 12 months, Yu plans to establish a national distribution network and increase its presence. In addition to expanding its domestic market share, Yu intends to bolster its position in South Africa, where it has quickly amassed 2,000 stores across the country.
Yu states that it has a variety of distribution channels, including exports, institutional segments, online e-commerce, and q-commmerce servicing all of India, and over 6,500 offline stores.
