Insurtech incubator invites applications from Rwandan startups
Rwandan businesses are encouraged to submit applications for the ZEP-RE InsurTech Program, which will aid scalable firms in expanding their market reach and increasing productivity.
Next month, 25 businesses will be chosen for an insurtech hackathon, which will be hosted by the PTA Reinsurance Company (ZEP-RE) in collaboration with Westerwelle Startup Haus. Five teams will then be chosen to participate in a six-month incubation programme.
At the conclusion of the programme, three out of the five teams will earn cash awards totaling up to $15,000 USD, and the ZEP-RE investment team will assess all firms for potential seed investment and additional help to expand in the COMESA area.
Having access to industry professionals and mentors, networking opportunities with potential investors, partners, and corporate clients getting free office space and resources to help startups grow, and the chance to expand into the emerging and untapped insurtech sector are all additional benefits.
Startups should have a diverse team with track records in their fields, a desire and commitment to pivot to the insurance sector, and a current product or service that may be employed in the insurance sector. FinTech, agritech, e-health, legal tech, climate tech, and entrepreneurs developing blockchain-enabled solutions are of special interest to the programme.
Applications can be submitted up to March 15.
