Integrated facility management firm CLR Facility Services raised $15 M from BII

British International Investment (BII), the UK’s development finance organization and impact investor, has contributed $15 million (roughly Rs 125 crore) to the integrated facility management company CLR Facility Services.

The money raised will go towards helping CLR grow throughout India, scale its integrated facility management business, fund vocational education, and improve ESG standards.

CLR was established in Pune and offers corporate clients services like engineering, cleaning, mechanical maintenance, and production support. It currently operates in nine states and employs more than 20,000 blue-collar workers.

“This investment will empower us to create more opportunities for our workforce, drive innovation in facility management, and extend our impact across new markets,” said Gaurav Pathak and Gautam Pathak, promoters and directors of CLR Facility Services.

With an emphasis on hiring more women and people from underserved communities, the company intends to more than double its workforce to 50,000 in the next five to seven years. In order to train unskilled and semi-skilled workers, it will also construct training facilities in tier-II cities.

With a quarter of its workforce being female, CLR is renowned for its structured skilling and employment model. First Bridge Investment Managers made its first institutional investment in it in 2018.

In the facility management market, the company competes with firms like BVG India, UDS, and ISS Facility Services and serves more than 160 clients.
