Intilaaqah startup support programme with Flat6Labs relaunched by Shell Egypt
With the goal of assisting over 1,000 young entrepreneurs annually through matchmaking, bootcamps, and incubation, Shell Egypt has reopened its Intilaaqah enterprise development program in collaboration with Flat6Labs.
Over the course of its more than 20 years of operation, the Shell Intilaaqah Egypt Program has cultivated over 10,000 young people nationwide and helped establish and grow about 200 startups.
With the goal of empowering and assisting more than 1,000 budding entrepreneurs in Egypt, it has now reopened as a component of Shell LiveWIRE, the company’s premier enterprise development program worldwide.
It will accomplish this in collaboration with Flat6Labs, an early-stage investor and accelerator that was established in Cairo in 2011. Flat6Labs has invested in over 100 creative and tech-driven startups and oversees several seed funds with an aggregate AUM of more than US$85 million.
“As a responsible investor, Shell Egypt has a long-standing history of supporting our local communities through impactful Social Investment programmes. These initiatives are designed to create sustainable benefits for our stakeholders, addressing some of the most pressing challenges we face today,” said Dalia Elgabry, vice president and country chair of Shell Egypt.
“We are proud to support the community through pioneering capacity-building programmes like Shell Intilaaqah. Together in collaboration with Flat6Labs, we are committed to creating significant opportunities for early-stage entrepreneurs, providing them with the necessary support to overcome challenges and succeed in their entrepreneurial journey.”
With the goal of boosting local economies via entrepreneurship, innovation, and meaningful employment, Shell LiveWIRE works in 20 countries. Through a series of matchmaking, ideation, bootcamps, and incubators, the Shell Intilaaqah Egypt Program will take advantage of this worldwide experience to support and train over 1,000 entrepreneurs annually.
240 teams or ideas that show the most promise during these sessions will be chosen to take part in the Bright Ideas Bootcamp Training. The top 40 teams from these will receive invitations to participate in the two annual, three-month Intilaaqah Incubation cycle.
“Flat6Labs is thrilled to collaborate with Shell Egypt and become their social investment delivery and innovation partner in the country. This collaboration in relaunching the Shell Intilaaqah Egypt Programme will create significant opportunities for early-stage entrepreneurs, providing them with the necessary resources and mentorship to turn their innovative ideas into successful ventures,” said Hany Al-Sonbaty, co-founder and chairman of Flat6Labs.
